On December 15, 2007, 216th anniversary of when the United States Bill of Rights took effect, grassroots supporters of peace candidate Dennis Kucinich plan to raise 10 million US dollars.
It is hoped that the "money bomb" with prove Kucinich has a fighting chance in the upcoming elections. "It's pretty hard to argue that a guy who can raise $10,000,000 in one day is unelectable," says William Scott Hunter, the oranganiser of the money bomb. This would suppass the previous record of $4,200,000.
Hunter is hoping to collect money from individual donors, not corporate interests.
To reach the goal, a hundred thousand people need to contribution $100 dollars each. With 9 days left until the big day, slightly over a hundred thousand dollars have pledged.
